Our youths are committed by a judge throughout the state of Florida to stay in our (SAOS) Substance Abuse Overlay Services program for a period of 3-9 months. Sequel operates the program for the Department of Juvenile Justice, a non-secure facility. Our program exercises a behavior management system and provides Substance Treatment, Mental Health Counseling, Individual and Family Therapy. Our purpose is to provide interest of the youth to help frame their current strengths and attributes in a tone supportive of their employability. Position Overview The Shift Supervisor is a unit staff member responsible for providing general supervision, competency reviews and training for all counselors and counselor aids. This position assists the Program Manager and Assistant Facility Administrator (AFA) in maintaining routine and order on the unit. Our Ideal Shift Supervisor will: Have a High School Diploma Have 4 years experience working with adjudicated adolescents Responsibilities of Shift Supervisor: Provide direct care and supervision of residents. Assist AFA with the maintenance of the counseling staff schedule. Coordinate and maintain daily resident schedule. Responsible for orientation, training and general supervision of Direct Care Staff. Ensure unit staff remain current in required training. In addition, provide in-service training to unit staff as assigned. Provide coverage on the unit to include: PAR, Special Treatment Procedures and emergency procedures (CPR, First Aid, etc.) as needed. Performs other reasonable related assignments as directed by the AFA or Administrator. Under the direction of the AFA, provides general supervision of Counselors in designated groups.
