POSITION SUMMARY

The Shift Supervisors play a key role in the daily floor operations of the Sonora Room Restaurant. With a strong focus on hands-on leadership, attention to detail, and guest service, this role supports the restaurant team in creating a seamless and memorable dining experience. The Shift Supervisors are actively present on the floor—supporting the service team, anticipating guest needs, and ensuring that every detail aligns with the premium standards of Burrowing Owl Estate Winery.
The first term of employment will run from September 1 to December 15, with the exciting opportunity to rejoin our team for the full 2026 season, running from February through December 2026.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1–2 years in a supervisory or leadership role in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Strong floor presence with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example and foster teamwork.
  • Certifications: Serving It Right (required); Food Safe and First Aid/CPR an asset.
    Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal, Part-time
    Contract length: 4 months
    Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week

Responsibilities

OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, including setup, cash handling, and reporting.
  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and readiness of front-of-house areas throughout the shift.
  • Monitor reservations and table flow, working with the Manager to maximize efficiency.
  • Support leadership with daily logistics and communication with the kitchen, Guest House and Wine Shop team.

OTHER DUTIES

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management that are reasonable and consistent with the overall scope of this role.
