We are seeking a highly-motivated, ambitious individual to join our Locke Street Team as a Shift Supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for opening and closing the restaurant, supervising Team Members, overseeing food prep, and managing guest experience.

  • Problem Solving: Undertakes Research – Shift Supervisor is expected to analyze problems and outcomes to identify root cause. The Supervisor should apply past learning to solve problems and mitigate risk. They should demonstrate managerial courage to engage Team Members in their problem solving
  • Communication Style: Interpretation – Shift Supervisor is required to communicate information from different sources. They are expected to ask questions and seek clarity to answer questions, clear up misunderstandings, and explain things to others in a meaningful way.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily restaurant operations
  • Open and closing responsibilities, including carrying keys
  • Manage the daily sales reads and cash floats, in the absence of the Restaurant Manager
  • Delegate tasks and station coverage and resolve employee issues and conflicts
  • Train new and existing employees, evaluate performance, and communicate performance and coverage gaps to the Restaurant Manager
  • Provide ongoing feedback to Team, motivate Team, and share a vision and plan daily
  • Oversee food preparation, ensuring compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards
  • Ensure that food is high quality, fresh, presented properly, and available throughout service
  • Demonstrate exceptional service standards and coach Team to follow suit
  • Resolve Team and guest complaints and concerns effectively and urgently
  • Set a high expectation for restaurant presentation and cleanliness in dining room, behind service counters, in bathrooms, out front, in egress routes, and in all areas viewed by neighbours
  • Assist the Restaurant Manager with ordering product, flagging product shortage or quality issues
  • Manager par levels, waste/shrink protocols, and inventory levels
  • Assist Service Team Members with daily tasks, service, and maintenance of optimal restaurant conditions
  • Update, manage, and troubleshoot POS software, Otter, and delivery services (UberEats, DoorDash, and Skip the Dishes) to ensure they are operational and menus are accurate
