Responsibilities

ABOUT YOUR ROLE

We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Shift Technician to join our chemical manufacturing plant in Laverton North. We produce chlorine on a continuous basis and as part of a close-knit shift team, you are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the plant, and you will ensure the facility meets SH&E, quality, production, and cost targets.
Due to the nature of our 24/7 operation, you will be required to work on 12-hour shifts on a rotating basis including both days and nights. As a part of the rostering, this role also attracts a significant flexi days additional leave package.

The site is a licensed Major Hazard Facility and is managed under a rigorous safety management system, ensuring employees are protected. Our employees work in an environment where safety is always the priority.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Hands on field work troubleshooting; ensuring reliable uptime on our process equipment to manufacture various chemical products as per daily and weekly plan
  • Issue permits; competent in preparing JSA’s for equipment maintenance and preparing plant and equipment for maintenance.
  • Be trained in and perform lab analysis to ensure product meets quality requirements
  • Be trained and developed in operating the Distribution Control System (DCS) which runs the plant operations
  • Operate the site safely in accordance with legislation and H&S standards
  • Achieve manufacturing targets
  • Assist with safety investigations, raise incidents, and ensure corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Forklift operation required occasionally to load/unload trucks and fill containers
  • Be developed in high level safety measures and participate in the emergency response team
