Location: Port of Tilbury
Compensation: Salary - £51,877 + Shift allowance - £12,970

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experienced in welding, turning and general fitting
  • ONC/HNC in an Engineering discipline
  • Recognised engineering apprenticeship
  • Strong IT skills (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Full driving license
  • Full right to work in the UK
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Shift Technician, you will work as part of a team to construct, maintain and repair terminal equipment to achieve maximum availability and efficiency, while upholding the highest standards of safety and adherence to operating policies and procedures.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Construct, maintain and repair the fleet of Container Cranes, Straddle Carriers, Refrigeration and other Terminal equipment with the flexibility of working between trades and skills in accordance with the company policies including safety, environment and quality
  • Ensure that all work carried out is completed to an acceptable standard in accordance with safe working procedures
  • In addition to the duties listed above, carry out other ad-hoc duties assigned by the line manager from time to time
  • To maintain Plant Equipment to an acceptable standard
  • Reporting all incidents, hazards and unsafe working conditions or behaviour you encounter to your manager. Completing any actions assigned to you from an audit action plan
  • Complying with all LCT health, safety and environmental protection and security policies and procedures that are relevant to your work
  • Ability to work autonomously and as an effective member of a team
