ABOUT US

For over 50 years, Scott & Charters have been making very special knitwear in the Scottish Border town of Hawick. We use cashmere and other luxury fibres to produce knitwear of the finest quality for prestigious labels and designers as well as our own brand.
In November 2020, Scott & Charters was acquired by Alex Begg. Alex Begg, established in 1866, designs and manufacturers exquisite accessories from the finest cashmere, silk and wool blend yarns in its mill in Ayr. Begg’s acquisition of Scott & Charters demonstrates their ambition to grow the business and a belief in the long-term demand for beautiful products made by highly skilled craftspeople.

Working with our extensive customer base, in-house and external designers, account managers, and technical team, to create and program new and existing knitwear ranges for our in-house brands and private clients. A significant proportion of the role will involve developing new products.
The role is also responsible for supporting manufacturing colleagues by working through machine maintenance issues and troubleshooting technical problems – whether those relate to product design or machine issues.
