Description HELIOS is seeking a highly experienced Ship Cost Estimator to join our team in supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD). This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical research and development, testing, evaluation, engineering, and fleet support activities for the Navy’s ships, submarines, military watercraft, and unmanned vehicles. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing complex projects within NSWCPD Code 60, which is responsible for the Compatibility Test Facility, ensuring the delivery of innovative solutions that support national defense. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and prepare detailed cost estimates for ship and maritime systems, including submarines, watercraft, and unmanned vehicles. - Analyze project scope, technical specifications, and engineering data to ensure accurate cost projections. - Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to gather necessary data and assumptions. - Monitor and update cost estimates throughout project lifecycle to reflect changes and new information. - Support bid and proposal activities by providing comprehensive cost analysis and documentation. - Ensure compliance with government and industry standards for cost estimating and reporting. - Assist in the development of cost control strategies to optimize project budgets and schedules. - Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes and tools. This is position is contingent on contract award. Veterans receive hiring preference. Requirements The following are the minimum requirements for this position: Possess a current, active SECRET Clearance Experience working with and handling U-NNPI Information. Must be a U.S. Citizen Bachelor’s Degree in Financial, Math, Economics, Engineering, or Naval Architecture from an accredited college or university. Five (5) years of experience in a related field. Experience related to analysis and assessments of ships, submarines, and related ship systems. Experience and technical expertise, performing parametric tradeoff studies, and assesses cost estimates.
Responsibilities
The Ship Cost Estimator will develop and prepare detailed cost estimates for ship and maritime systems, ensuring accurate projections by analyzing project scope and technical specifications. They will collaborate with various teams and support bid activities while monitoring cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle.
