JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Shipping Supervisor, Shippers/Receivers are responsible for the shipping, receiving, packing, unpacking, storage, and accurate documentation of supplies, materials and stock.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to read and interpret order slips and shipping documents.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic product knowledge and understanding of warehouse operations.
  • Physical ability to handle heavy objects (up to 100 lbs).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Valid driver’s license (driver’s abstract may be required).
  • Forklift certification/experience is an preferred but not required.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 40 – 42 per week

Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Arrange deliveries; prepare bills of lading and other shipping documents.
  • Assemble skids, pack goods for shipment, and attach packing slips with identifying information and shipping instructions.
  • Inspect and count incoming goods; verify against purchase orders; record shortages; reject or return damaged items.
  • Unpack and store goods in designated storage areas.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records; trace lost shipments when required.
  • Operate forklifts, hand trucks, or other material-handling equipment (training provided if required).
  • Create shipping labels and maintain records using computer systems.
  • Contact customers or carriers to coordinate pick-up and delivery.
  • Process shipping and receiving documents including bills of lading, packing slips, receiving tallies, and picking tickets.
  • Follow all safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Perform general housekeeping and other related duties as assigned.
