YOUR CONTRIBUTION

As a Shipper, you will play a key role in the efficient preparation and handling of incoming and outgoing materials. A day in the life of a Shipper includes:

  • Ensuring accurate and timely shipment and receiving of all products (no longer than 24 hours from invoice date for shipments)
  • Preparing shipment documentation, including verifying orders and cross-border manifests, etc.
  • Fabric guarding lift chairs before going out for delivery
  • Cleaning items after Trial/Assessment, return the item physically and in Windward
  • Preparing equipment for shipment, including boxing equipment, strapping to pallets, wrapping, assembling bathroom equipment, etc.
  • Picked up outgoing mail from the front office throughout the day, including stamping outgoing mail and ensuring the machine has money and ink
  • Matching all received packing slips to purchase orders, checking and fixing errors
  • Posting all receiving to the computer, processing and distributing back orders, including all parts and products ordered by others
  • Receiving all products, confirming pricing, and inputting specs into Windward
  • Checking all shipments against the packing slip before shipping and ensuring that all company and government stickers are on the product
  • Obtaining shipping quotations as requested and retaining the quote
  • Maintaining forklift as per maintenance schedule
  • Assisting in showroom equipment setup
  • Keeping the shipping area clean.
  • Planning, organizing, and scheduling daily and weekly inbound or outbound freight
  • Loading and unloading trucks
  • Preparing driver manifests
  • Calling clients for the next day’s deliveries
  • Scanning and uploading proof of delivery into the Windward program when deliveries are fulfilled
  • Performing a thorough cleaning of shipping office and bay, including disposal of carboard.
  • Assisting with inventory counts and spot checks.
  • Displaying respectful behaviour at all times to employees, clients, managers, and stakeholders

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in Shipping and Receiving
  • Computer skills including typing proficiency and MS Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Capable of maintaining a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Time management capabilities and flexibility.
  • The ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods, and lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Capable of using a debit machine for processing debit/credit card payments
  • Product knowledge is considered an asset.
  • Clear communication and a positive attitude
