Position Summary
We are currently looking for a highly motivated and customer-focused individual for the position of Shipper. The successful candidate must be a highly motivated and customer-focused individual who will ensure the highest standards of safety, service, and efficiency. This role ensures customers are provided with the best possible experience daily. Together with other team members, the Shipper works to exceed customer expectations. The shifts are Monday - Friday and the wage range is $27 - $33 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers.
  • Maintain an emphasis on safety culture, customer service, and efficiency as top priorities.
  • Oversees outgoing shipping activities.
  • Determines space requirements and position of shipment on trucks.
  • Determines routing and legal load limits of trucks.
  • Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.
  • Facilitate certified vehicle inspections and crane inspections as needed.
  • Organize equipment/vehicle repairs.
  • Communicates with sales team and customers.
  • Maintains vehicle maintenance reports.
  • Compiles records of unfilled orders and errors.
  • Ensures the shipping office and workspace are clean and organized at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Basic Requirements

  • Minimum two years of experience is an asset
  • Broad knowledge of building supplies and home improvement products
  • Delivery experience is an asset
  • Competent with Microsoft Excel
  • Valid forklift certification is an asset
  • Effective communication skills and ability to read and speak English
  • Ability to problem solve, prioritize, and manage multiple assignments
  • Physical requirements include:

o Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
o Pulling, pushing, bending and torso twisting movements with weight

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 80lbs.
  • Climbing up and down stairs.
  • Bending and standing with weight.
