Job Description The Shipper - Receiver is responsible for managing all shipping and receiving processes, as well as assisting in the assembly of manufactured products. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and teamwork. Core expectations include ensuring all shipments are accurate (gathering components, securely packing, filling out shipping forms, labeling, etc.), sending out orders in a timely manner, documenting and tracking all items received, and maintaining clear communication with sales and office team members to guarantee accurate product and shipping information. This is not a forklift operator position. While occasional use of forklifts or pallet jacks may be required to move materials or unload trucks, the majority of this role focuses on documentation, order preparation, inventory control, and coordination with other departments. Job Responsibilities: Equipment and Tools: Maintain cleanliness and good condition of company vehicles, tools, and equipment. Ensure tools are properly stored after use. Safety: Follow all company and general safety policies. Use required personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a safe work environment and promptly report any hazards to the manager. Receiving: Assist in unloading trucks (primarily by hand; forklift used only as needed), check in merchandise, and verify accuracy of incoming shipments. Order Preparation: Read and interpret customer orders, work orders, and shipping requests to identify items for movement, gathering, assembly, and/or shipment. Inventory Control: Maintain accurate records of stock movements; most tasks involve documentation, manual handling, and organization. Forklift use is occasional. Facility Management: Keep the shipping/receiving area safe, organized, and accessible at all times. Assembly Support: Assist with the assembly and preparation of manufactured equipment and components when needed. Qualifications Ability to provide and use basic hand tools Ability to read and use a tape measure to precise measurements Ability to Operate a computer using Windows Ability to use Computer programs such as: Word, Excel, Internet Browser, and Shipping Manager software Reliable with strong attendance record Ability to retain and apply instructions Ability to communicate and understand in English Ability to read and understand documents Basic Math Skills; addition and subtraction Ability to safely use pallet-jacks and occasionally operate forklifts, scissor-lifts, or cherry-pickers when required.
