Description

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Completion of high school.
    *Languages: Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing) is essential to ensure clear communication and accurate documentation.
  • Vehicle and Equipment Experience: Dollies and hand trucks, industrial lift trucks and forklifts, light trucks.
  • Weight Handling (lift/push/pull): Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

SPECIFIC SKILLS:

  • Order picking, prepare orders for shipping, ability to receive and properly put away incoming materials.
    *Prepare shipping documents, such as, bills of lading, customs forms, both manually and by computer.
    *Monitor loading and unloading of goods from trucks or other transport vehicles.
    *Assemble containers and crates, document contents manually or electronically, pack goods for shipment.
  • Load, unload and move products and materials by hand or with use of an electric forklift.
    *Examine and confirm incoming goods.
  • Maintain and organize inventory.
  • Operate computerized inventory control systems.
  • Effective communication: able to work collaboratively with others and function as part of a team and work efficiently with minimal supervision to get the job done.
  • The ability to multitask within a complex manufacturing facility and demonstrated sense of urgency.
  • Friendly, courteous and customer service driven.
    *Strong attention to detail.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bondable, driving record check (abstract)
  • Credentials: Forklift Operator Certification, WHMIS Certificate
  • Steel-toed safety boots
  • Fast-paced environment, some repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, manual dexterity, bending, crouching, kneeling
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Syspro experience to be considered an asset
  • Some mechanical aptitude preferred
    Compensation: Commensurate with demonstrated skills.
    Hours Of Work: 40 hours/week

Responsibilities

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who takes pride in delivering exceptional service to both internal teams and external clients. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials and products throughout our facility. As a Shipper/Receiver, you will also coordinate with our Material Handlers and perform other tasks as required by the Inventory Manager.
