Valley Blades Limited is currently hiring for shipper/receiver to join our team. The shipper/receiver reports directly to the Shipping Supervisor and is responsible for the accuracy of picking and loading orders for shipments. The shipper is also responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area. This position will also receive freight, put away stock, and assist with cleaning the warehouse and yard. This position is required to work in all types of weather year-round.

Shift Times:

  • 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday
  • Rate of $29.46 per hour
  • Performance Bonus - $1.00 per regular worked hour, paid out semi-annually.

Job Duties

  • Read, understand, and use RF scanner to pick orders
  • Pick orders safely and accurately to load onto trucks
  • Work with team members to ensure high efficiency
  • Offload trucks, vans, and flatbeds
  • Oversee the secure and accurate loading and unloading of deliveries
  • Use a forklift daily and maintain your forklift for high productivity
  • Use a reach truck daily and maintain your reach truck for high productivity
  • Communicate with contractors, vendors, and drivers.
  • Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking.
  • Report discrepancies to immediate supervisor
  • Follow current standards and procedures
  • Inventory control and cycle counting
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Highschool diploma or GED.
  • Forklift experience required.
  • Reach truck experience required.
  • Experience preferred with RF scanning system.
  • Read and understand imperial measurements.
  • 1 or more years in a shipping environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to identify issues and find solutions to overcome them.
  • Clear and solid understanding of policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Effective attention to detail and accuracy.

Working Conditions
