OVERVIEW

Commercial Truck Equipment is looking to add a Full-Time Permanent Shipper/Receiver to our Surrey, BC Team.
The Shipper/Receiver is a vital employee at the branch, ensuring the smooth operation of packages and freight into and out of the branch. The Shipper/Receiver also assists with other logistics support tasks such as warehouse maintenance, local parts deliveries, pick-up, and some production support tasks. Reporting to the Parts Manager, an independent, organized, detail and safety-oriented individual with knowledge of warehousing would be an ideal candidate for this position. The successful candidate must have a valid Class 5 driver’s licence and be willing to work outdoors in all conditions. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The successful applicant will have a mix of the following qualifications and experience. Commercial is looking for someone who has the experience to make a smooth transition into this position and hit the ground running. We will consider candidates from all backgrounds and industries, providing familiarization and training for the right candidate.

  • Valid Class-5 driver’s license is mandatory, licensure above class 5 is considered an asset. A driver’s abstract may be required
  • Mechanical aptitude is an asset (pto’s, valves, cables)
  • Experience in customer service is considered a major asset
  • Lift Truck Operator Training is required
  • Knowledge of the truck or heavy equipment industry would be beneficial
Responsibilities
  • Loading and unloading trucks/trailers with a forklift
  • Physically receiving material and putting into applicable location as directed
  • Packaging and sending packages and freight, arranging pickups, and completing the appropriate paperwork for shipments
  • Completion of pick-up and delivery of parts, materials, and tools in a time efficient manner
  • Ensuring accurate receipts and performing quality control inspections of incoming purchase order goods
  • Reception and processing customer return orders
  • Provision of support to the Parts and Branch Manager when required
  • General labour duties such as warehouse and yard maintenance as required
  • Following all health and safety procedures and regulations as directed by the employer
