We are looking for an organized and motivated Shipping and Purchasing Coordinator to join our team at our main logistics facility in Calgary. The Shipping and Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring inventory is processed, organized, and stored. The Shipping and Purchasing Coordinator will also pick, package, and prepare orders for shipping. The ideal candidate is comfortable working on their feet, focused on meeting quotas, and has an ability to learn inventory software and databases. The Shipping and Purchasing Coordinator will also operate heavy machinery, or drive equipment, so a candidate with forklift experience and a valid driver’s license is required.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Receive and process incoming inventory (sort, label, store in proper locations)
  • Process inventory for shipping to other work sites (pick, pack, arrange shipping)
  • Complete documentation / update inventory system in timely manner
  • Maintain records and monitor returns to vendors via specific processes
  • Assist with maintaining and updating photo library of parts
  • Perform inventory counts
  • Disposal management
  • Operate heavy machinery like pallet jack and forklift to move or store inventory
  • Ensure workspace is free of debris and remove safety hazards from aisles
  • Work as an active team member to complete team goals
  • Assist with other logistics-related tasks as required

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Excellent telephone, computer and organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to follow processes
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Proficient with basic analytics skills utilizing Excel (vlookup, pivot tables)
  • Ability to learn and work with inventory software; able to upload data into the company system
  • Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk and climb during the shift
  • Physically able to lift 50 pounds or more
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding and temperature changing logistics environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with shifts
  • Able to work independently

  • Possess attention to detail
  • High school diploma, post-secondary education an asset
  • License or certification to operate heavy machinery as needed
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Adhere to company health, safety and environmental policies
  • Able to pass background check
  • Fluency in French would be considered an asset
