Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

A Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for the shipment and receipt of goods. This includes preparing, packing, and shipping orders, verifying, and documenting incoming shipments, and ensuring inventory accuracy. The Shipping and Receiving Associate works under the guidance of the Team Coordinator and reports to the Team Lead. The role collaborates with the rest of the team to ensure and maintain a smooth flow of goods within the warehouse.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics is a plus.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and shipping software.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment (certification is often required).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory and documentation.

Responsibilities:

SHIPPING DUTIES:

  • Pick, pack, and label orders for shipment.
  • Ensure products are packaged securely to prevent damage during transit.
  • Generate shipping documentation, such as packing slips, shipping labels and customs documentation.
  • Schedule pickups/deliveries with carriers.
  • Track shipments and provide updates to relevant teams or customers.
  • Report all shipping discrepancies, such as lost or delayed shipments.

RECEIVING DUTIES:

  • Unload incoming shipments and inspect goods for damage or defects.
  • Verify the accuracy of shipments by comparing delivery notes, invoices, and purchase orders.
  • Report any discrepancies or damages.
  • Ensure all dental/medical equipment coming for repair, is handled and processed according to the biohazard work and safety protocols.
  • Organize and store incoming materials in designated warehouse locations.

ADMINISTRATIVE AND OTHER GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records.
  • Uses equipment and company and courier systems appropriately (i.e. ERP, FedEX,etc.)
  • Collaborate and communicate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to resolve issues.
  • Monitor the stock levels for packing material, report low levels to team coordinator and/or place orders to the suppliers.
  • Coordinate returns or exchanges with suppliers for defective items.
  • Participate in regular inventory cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Carry out annual physical inventory count.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Use and maintain the warehouse tools and equipment, according to the workplace safety protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Escalate or report any safety, warehouse, or delivery related issues in a timely manner to Coordinator or Team Lead.
  • Other duties as assigned.
