POSITION SUMMARY

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk ensures that all shipping and receiving documents and functions are completed accurately and on time. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk communicates with customers as required and, in conjunction with the Warehouse Manager, develops inbound and outbound freight schedules.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization and customers.
  • Ability to always maintain a positive attitude, act and respond professionally.
  • Detail oriented with ability to follow-up aggressively.
  • Must be able to perform several job functions simultaneously
  • Basic math skills
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) desired.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule and shift, including weekends if needed.
Responsibilities
  • Follows standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
  • Check drivers in and prepare paperwork for the dock to receive or load-out trucks and distributes documentation to the appropriate party.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all shipping and receiving documents and gathers and maintains all data and records related to shipping and receiving activities.
  • Assure that receiving counts match purchase orders or drivers’ documentation and that shipping counts match delivery ticket requirements and assists in resolving any discrepancies.
  • Sign out drivers and supply them with proper paperwork.
  • Prepare delivery tickets after checking warehouse inventory to verify quantity.
  • Distribute correct copies to the customer and files other copies and confirms this activity on the computer.
  • Utilizes common office equipment, computer, and transmission equipment to either report shipping or receiving information or update in-house systems.
