Description
Description This Shipping and Receiving Clerk position is responsible for receiving the incoming raw material and ensuring that the quantity received matches the bill of lading or packing slips. The position delivers material to production areas as required, operating a forklift and/or hand truck and updating the production scheduling system. The clerk will also package and prepare the finished product and may be required to drive the company truck or van for customer delivery. Requirements Roles and Responsibilities: Receive incoming material verifying quantity and item number against purchase order to ensure accuracy. Store material until needed by production then distribute materials to presses and other work areas as required. Anticipate material needed at press by using production schedule to ensure that material is staged and ready for use in the appropriate areas. Removes waste products from production areas as necessary. Moves finished product to warehouse/shipping area until sent to customer. Wrap skids of finished product securely to protect from damage while shipping. Calls shipping vendors to arrange for pickup by carrier for delivery to customer. Prepares packing lists and bill of lading for each customer order and updates shipping schedule. Will occasionally drive to pick up and deliver material. Package and prepare products for outbound shipments. Keeps shipping dock and warehouse area clean and organized. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Current driver's license and good driving record without any DUI's past 7 years Valid Forklift license or able to pass test to be licensed upon hire Basic mathematical skills Minimum of one year experience in warehouse in shipping and receiving: using shipping software, operating forklifts, using skid wrappers and driving a straight truck. Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED. Current driver's license and good driving record without any DUI's past 7 years Valid Forklift license or able to pass test to be licensed upon hire Basic mathematical skills Minimum of one year experience in warehouse in shipping and receiving: using shipping software, operating forklifts, using skid wrappers and driving a straight truck.
