Description
We are currently recruiting for a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our team! This is an excellent opportunity for those with experience in logistics or manufacturing, looking to expand their career with a steadily growing organization. The ideal candidate will have a high attention to detail and excel with meeting deadlines.   Responsibilities:   * Follows established operational procedures for activities such as: * Verification of incoming shipments with high attention to detail * Ensues accuracy of raw materials and finished goods inventories at all times * Stage of materials in support of operations in an organized and efficient manner * Verifies accuracy of outbound shipments to customers and intra- plant transfers * Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed. * Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas. * Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code * Responsible for all UPS, FedEx or Freight incoming and outgoing shipments * Fills requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools or other stock items and distributes items to production floor. * Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department. * Marks materials with identifying information, opens bales, crates and other containers * Records amount so materials or items received or distributed * Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards * Uses computer workstations to enter records, compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications * Drives lift truck or clamp truck to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment. * Responsible for efficient maintenance of all inventory records * Keeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standards. * Other duties as assigned       Qualifications:   * High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience * At least one year of experience working in shipping or receiving in either a logistics or manufacturing type environment is preferred. * Proven experience is required in managing shipping and receiving logistics across various freight types, specifically utilizing FedEx, UPS, and LTL carriers. * Experience in the printing or packaging industry is a huge plus! * Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence. * Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors and other employees of the organization. * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; and stoop, kneel or crouch. * The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance; loads over 50 pounds require the use of mechanical devices or other personnel. * Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
