JOB SUMMARY:

The Shipping & Receiving associate plays a pivotal role in optimizing lean manufacturing processes. This position will support in coordinating material handling, inventory management, and overall support for lean production. Responsibilities include supplying materials to production workstations, aiding in material handling, inventory control, cycle counts, and facilitating various production tasks, such as packing, painting, and shipping. Additionally, this role assists with documentation, cleanup, and changeovers.
A successful candidate will operate self-sufficiently, with proactive communication skills to ensure timely material delivery to production operators for seamless workflow between workstations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 2 (two) or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • At least 1 (one) or more years of shipping & receiving experience
  • At least 1 (one) or more years of inventory control experience
  • At least 1 (one) or more years of material handling experience
  • Ability to safely lift and move items weighing up to 40lbs on a regular basis.

WORK ARRANGEMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • An onsite industrial manufacturing position, with exposure to noise, heat, cold, fumes, and chemicals.
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to knee, bend, climb a ladder, and work in restricted spaces, walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work in high elevations, i.e., scissor lift.

TRAVEL & WORK ARRANGEMENTS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position will be fully based on site based at our Alsip, IL location

Responsibilities
  • Use manual dexterity to assemble small components.
  • Efficiently move materials, parts, and assemblies to support uninterrupted production flow. Utilize continuous improvement techniques to minimize errors and enhance productivity.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and perform cycle counts. Manage inventory in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas. Replenish materials and tools when needed, ensuring their usability.
  • Load/unload trucks, manage inbound/outbound materials and check incoming equipment for teardown. Inspect outgoing parts for quality compliance.
  • Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage areas on or near the cells.
  • Facilitate interdepartmental communication, teamwork, and cross-departmental communication. Collaborate with teams to identify and resolve production-related issues.
  • Complete transfer orders accurately within SAP. Deliver parts to various production stages as required.
  • Support 5S and safety audits, promoting adherence to standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
