We are currently hiring for a Shipping Associate in our Ashland, VA location.  The Shipping Associate is responsible for packaging and shipping products to the customer and updating applicable documentation and database systems at Porvair Filtration Group. This role focuses on handling, moving, and organizing goods to ensure that outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. Duties / Responsibilities  Shipping Preparation * Pack, label, and prepare products for shipment according to Company and customer guidelines to ensure damage-free delivery. * Ensure accurate documentation for outgoing shipments and pickup of goods, pickup of goods, small package, LTL, FTL, etc. * Negotiate general shipping rates with various vendors: Leverage shipping volume to justify discounts and/or decrease in rates. Inventory Management * Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records. * Organize and store products in designated areas. * Satisfy customer’s documentation and retention requirements. General Warehouse Duties * Maintain a safe and clean work environment. * Coordinate with other functional areas of the business (Purchasing, Quality, etc.) and participatein continuous improvement activities. Other related duties as assigned.  Qualifications / Training Required * High school diploma or equivalent * Experience using an MRP/ERP system * Ability to interpret blueprints and specifications * Prior experience in an inventory/receiving role preferred * Experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office program * Must be self-motivated and highly organized * Strong analytical and communication skills * Strong attention to detail and highly organized * Mustexhibitindependent thinking and problem solving * Ability to conduct analytical research * Ability to safely use and instruct other personnel in the safe use of power tools We offer a comprehensive benefits package with a 401k match, as well as a safe and clean working environment.
