ABOUT THE ROLE

As a member of the warehouse team, the Warehouse associate will be responsible for ensuring all incoming and outgoing shipping processes are executed and maintaining the warehouse. The primary function of this position is to ensure all outgoing shipments are sent out. The secondary functions in the position include material handling and receiving.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Working within the warehouse Team to:

Shipping (Primary 4 - days/week)

  • Verify and keep records on outgoing shipments and prepare orders for shipment
  • Compare identifying information and counts, weight or measures items of outgoing shipments
  • Picking, packing and determining methods of shipment utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates.
  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
  • Affix shipping labels on packed cartons and identify shipping information on cartons
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  • Complete USMCA’s for customer shipments
  • Ensuring ASN’s are sent
  • Provide shipping quotations to other departments
  • Managing counter pickups
  • Warehouse cleaning and light maintenance

Material Handling (Secondary 1 day per week)

  • Supply Material to and from Production using reach trucks
  • Put stock and production materials away
  • Maintain/record material inventory and location
  • Locate materials and supplies listed on production orders

Receiving (secondary/when needed)

  • Accepts and signs for deliveries from distributor.
  • Assists in unloading shipments from delivery truck.
  • Uses dollies, forklifts, and other moving equipment to transport shipments from loading dock.
  • Opens boxes and inspects contents of shipments.
  • Processes returns for any defective or incorrect items.
  • Contacts Purchasing or Quality Dept. to resolve shipment discrepancies.
  • Ensures that receiving area is clean and organized.
  • Processes transfers for shipments moving on to another location.
  • Conducts inventory of products, and logs data into inventory database.
  • Reports any major or unresolved shipment delays or problems to the QA and the buyer.
