Description The Shipping Clerk is responsible for managing both incoming and outgoing materials in a highly regulated aerospace and defense manufacturing environment. This role ensures all shipments and receipts are accurate, properly documented, and compliant with industry standards and government regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in handling-controlled materials with strict traceability requirements for an outgoing individual that will keep track of Shipments and receipt of materials and products. Requirements Shipping Functions: Prepare, package, and process outbound shipments in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements. Generate shipping documentation including packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of conformance, and export paperwork. Verify outgoing shipments against work orders and customer specifications. Coordinate with carriers for pickups, including domestic and international shipments. Ensure compliance with export regulations (e.g., ITAR, EAR). Receiving Functions: Receive and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and packing slips. Check for damage, accuracy, and proper documentation upon receipt. Accurately enter receipts into ERP/MRP systems and route materials to appropriate departments. Maintain traceability of materials, including lot and serial number tracking. Coordinate with Quality for inspection and nonconformance issues. General Duties: Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving transactions. Ensure compliance with AS9100 and internal quality procedures. Maintain clean, organized, and safe shipping/receiving areas. Communicate discrepancies or delays to internal stakeholders promptly. Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions in English. Qualifications Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. 2+ years of experience in shipping/receiving, preferably in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing. Skills & Competencies: Working knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures and documentation. Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and warehouse software. Understanding of export control regulations (ITAR/EAR) preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret purchase orders and shipping documentation. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and material handling. Operation of warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and scanners (forklift experience a plus). Work Environment Manufacturing and warehouse setting. Exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures. Preferred Qualifications Experience in an AS9100-certified environment. Forklift certification. Experience handling hazardous materials.
