JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Warehouse Forklift Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to efficiently load and unload shipments, as well as manage material movement within the facility. This role involves preparing shipments for various carriers and ensuring accurate documentation for all shipping and receiving activities.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
  • Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in using ERP systems and computer software for shipping documentation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Basic knowledge of export documentation and logistics is a plus.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous shipping/receiving clerk/coordinator experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 6S and efficiency improvements.

EDUCATION &/OR CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High school Diploma or GED

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE &/OR SKILLS:

  • Ability to measure and weigh.
  • RF scanner and ERP/MRP experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematical skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and fractions to be able to calculate square footage, etc.
  • Must be able to read a ruler to within 1/16 of an inch and accurately use a calculator, to measure and calculate. Computer proficiency with MS Office.
  • Forklift certification required.
  • Strong commitment to performing tasks with a safety first attitude.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25lbs and on occasion lift and/or move up to 50 lbs with or without the use of material handling equipment, stand or walk for extended periods of time, utilize computer and telephone, operate office equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Operate forklifts to load and unload shipments and move materials around the facility.
  • Prepare shipments for UPS/FedEx, DHL, LTL trucks, and full truckloads.
  • Create and prepare shipping labels, including box, barcode, and warning labels as needed.
  • Receive incoming freight into the ERP system.
  • Assist with cycle counting to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Place finished goods into appropriate bin locations within the Global ERP system.
  • Prepare daily shipment paperwork and ensure all documentation is complete.
  • Ship orders in the computer system that have been prepared for dispatch.
  • Prepare and print bills of lading, ensuring accuracy in quantity, destination, and other details.
  • Handle export documentation and logistics as required.
  • Schedule inbound and outbound trucks to optimize shipping operations.
  • Perform inbound inspections to verify the condition and accuracy of received goods.
  • Execute a variety of shipping and receiving clerical tasks to support warehouse operations.
