Description Shipping and Receiving Clerk We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring the accurate and efficient handling of incoming and outgoing shipments, supporting our commitment to timely delivery and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: - Perform a variety of shipping and receiving clerical tasks to support warehouse operations - Compare identifying information on incoming and outgoing shipments with purchase orders, packing lists, shipping reports, or other documents to ensure accuracy - Prepare daily shipment paperwork and update the computer system with shipment details - Coordinate and prepare shipments for carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and DHL - Prepare and print bills of lading, verifying quantities, destinations, and other shipment details - Create and print labels for shipping, boxes, barcodes, and warnings as needed - Trace lost shipments and handle customer claims related to lost shipments, initiating proof of delivery documentation - Schedule inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely processing and delivery - Perform material handling functions and assist with inventory management as needed Skills and Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent; additional logistics or warehouse certification is a plus - Proven experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data entry - Familiarity with shipping software and inventory management systems - Ability to operate shipping equipment and handle physical materials safely - Excellent organizational and time management skills - Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members - Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Join our team and be part of a company that values efficiency, accuracy, and teamwork. Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 6S and efficiency improvements. EDUCATION &/or CERTIFICATIONS: High school Diploma or GED SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE &/or SKILLS: Ability to measure and weigh. RF scanner and ERP/MRP experience preferred. Proficiency in basic mathematical skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and fractions to be able to calculate square footage, etc. Must be able to read a ruler to within 1/16 of an inch and accurately use a calculator, to measure and calculate. Computer proficiency with MS Office. Forklift certification required. Strong commitment to performing tasks with a safety first attitude. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25lbs and on occasion lift and/or move up to 50 lbs with or without the use of material handling equipment, stand or walk for extended periods of time, utilize computer and telephone, operate office equipment.
