POSITION SUMMARY The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments in a warehouse, distribution center, or manufacturing facility. This role ensures accurate documentation, proper handling of goods, and timely movement of materials while maintaining inventory accuracy and safety standards. ---------------------------------------- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders, packing slips, or invoices * Inspect deliveries for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report issues promptly * Accurately record received goods into inventory management systems * Prepare, pack, and label outgoing shipments according to company and carrier requirements * Schedule shipments and coordinate with carriers and delivery services * Maintain organized storage areas for received goods and shipping materials * Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, or forklifts (if certified) * Maintain shipping and receiving logs, records, and documentation * Assist with periodic inventory counts and audits * Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies ---------------------------------------- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * High school diploma or equivalent * 1–2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or logistics preferred * Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory or warehouse management systems * Ability to read shipping documents, purchase orders, and packing slips * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills * Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs ---------------------------------------- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Forklift certification * Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems * Knowledge of shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, freight companies) and shipping software ---------------------------------------- KEY SKILLS * Inventory tracking and documentation * Time management and organization * Communication and teamwork * Problem-solving and discrepancy resolution * Basic math and recordkeeping ---------------------------------------- WORKING CONDITIONS * Work performed in warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environments * May require standing, walking, lifting, and handling packages for extended periods * Possible exposure to noise, temperature changes, and warehouse equipment ---------------------------------------- TYPICAL WORK SCHEDULE * Full-time, typically 40 hours per week * May require overtime    REPORTING   This position reports Operations Manager
