Job Title: Shipping Clerk
Department: Shipping & Receiving
Reports To: Shipping Supervisor / Plant Manager
Location: 150 Toro Road, North York

POSITION SUMMARY

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating and executing daily shipping activities to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient movement of foam products and materials. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and effective communication with production, warehouse, and logistics teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent (college diploma in logistics or supply chain an asset).
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in shipping/receiving or logistics (manufacturing environment preferred).
  • Familiarity with foam products or manufacturing industry is an asset.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, ERP systems, shipping software).
  • Knowledge of shipping regulations and documentation requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Forklift certification (preferred but not mandatory).
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, and labels.
  • Schedule and coordinate shipments with carriers, ensuring compliance with company policies and customer requirements.
  • Verify and inspect outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy in product type, quantity, and condition.
  • Maintain accurate shipping and inventory records in the ERP or warehouse management system.
  • Assist with receiving incoming materials, verifying quantities, and updating records.
  • Communicate with production and warehouse teams to prioritize and prepare orders for shipment.
  • Monitor and track shipments, addressing delays or issues with carriers as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and company policies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in shipping processes.
