Description Job Title: Shipping Coordinator Department Name: Shipping Reports to: Shipping Supervisor & Distribution Manager Business Unit: Fort Mill Job Summary: Coordinate all shipping and receiving processes for our line of products: aluminum, vinyl and chain link. Essential Job Functions: Perform routine activities maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards. Perform warehouse operations by working closely with logistics and operations departments for efficient scheduling of merchandise being shipped and received. Coordinate activities with shipping personnel engaged in verifying and keeping records on shipments and preparing items for shipment. Coordinate with LTL and UPS providers for pickups and issues. Manage all the labels and printing process for shipments. Load trucks and secure material during the loading process. Operate equipment, as authorized, to facilitate the loading process. Verify material identification and condition as loaded. Determine space requirements and position of shipment in trucks and lay out position of shipment. Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications. Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage, work areas and to the person addressed. Securely move shipments to the designated zone areas. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and performance expectation. Other duties as needed and assigned by management. Requirements Minimum requirements: Associate degree or some college background Bilingual – English/Spanish – preferred 2-5 years in shipping and/or manufacturing work experience 5S hands on experience Strong attention to detail Ability to multitask Leadership and conflict management skills Full understanding of industry safety standard Full understanding of customer expectations and deliverables with an awareness of the impact of failure/cost of poor quality Certified Forklift Operator Good written and verbal communication skills. Strong sense of time organization and urgency. Able to work independently and within a team. Abilities recommended: Self-motivated team player with strong communication skills Must possess good time-management and effective decision-making skills Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Ability to work under pressure Physical demands & work environment: Working in a warehouse environment and operating equipment, as authorized.
