SUMMARY

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Shipping Coordinator is responsible for preparing all documentation as it pertains to shipments, and assigning and arranging carriers for shipments. This role also involves taking appropriate action to ensure that assigned shipping dates are met in the most cost-effective manner, and within shipping policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 1 year of direct experience is preferred, specifically within a manufacturing environment
  • High school diploma required

Responsibilities
  • In conjunction with the Warehouse Supervisor, determine methods of shipments, and coordinate and schedule truck pick-ups and deliveries, examine outgoing shipments, and continue to track shipments to ensure that specifications are met
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive shipping database, and verify and accurately record all shipping-related documentation
  • Compare identifying information and counts, weighs or measures outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records
  • Record shipping shortages and damages, and liaise with Warehouse Supervisor to resolve these issues
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  • Verify and approve freight invoices for payment by Accounts Payable
  • Make recommendations on shipping procedures, policies and processes
  • Prepare weekly composite shipping reports from documentation completed by shipping staff, and provide reports for review to Warehouse Supervisor
  • Liaise with various departments to resolve any shipping discrepancies and/or issues
  • Perform all other duties are requested
