JOB SUMMARY:

The Shipping Coordinator at Michigan Sugar Company will report to the Logistics Manager and be primarily responsible for working directly with customer service representatives, dispatchers and customers to schedule times for pickup and delivery of sugar products and sugar beet co-products.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree in related field and/or 2 years of equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrate excellence in oral and written communication.
  • Logistics background with customer service experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office software programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate shipping of all finished products utilizing RAPID software.
  • Review customer orders in RAPID and ensure inventories are on hand for scheduled shipments.
  • Provide assistance to customers and drivers with product orders.
  • Manage the site shipping schedule while effectively utilizing resources.
  • Coordinate with Logistics Manager and P&W supervision to ensure there is sufficient manpower to complete all loading activities.
  • Coordinate with the customer service representatives and loaders on cash/walk-in sales.
  • Track and post daily factory production and package production data accurately on a daily basis.
  • Support Logistics Manager by coordinating the shipping locations for customer loads, sub-locations transfers, holiday scheduling, receiving and returns.
  • Support Logistics manager with all Mid-West Ag shipments of co-products.
  • Support factory, sales, and inventory personnel while striving to create a positive working relationship.
