Position Summary The Shipping Coordinator communicates with logistic companies and schedules transport for outgoing shipments, and acts as the point of contact for incoming/outgoing truck drivers. Duties and Responsibilities · Process documents for new shipments, including bills of lading, warehouse releases, and order acknowledgments. · Obtain freight quotes from multiple carriers. · Schedule and confirm outgoing shipments for non-customer pickups. · Schedule and confirm appointments for outbound and inbound orders. · Ensure accuracy of paperwork such as bills of lading, warehouse releases, and order acknowledgments, custom documents (commercial invoices, VGMs, etc). · Enter order shipment confirmations into computer using software such as JD Edwards and DSI. · Inform Customer Service timely regarding inventory stock for potential orders. · Maintain accurate files of shipping records. · Prepare and provide ad hoc reports to Management and Customer Service. · Perform additional duties as required.
