Description

Vertiv is hiring a Shipping Coordinator in Mississauga, ON to organize and maintain the warehouse while performing the shipping and receiving of product, parts, warranty returns, and parcels ensuring that procedures are safe, efficient, accurate, on time, and cost effective.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum high school education: post-secondary diploma or related job experience recommended. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to multi-task and obtain basic understanding of products and company processes. Must be able to operate forklift/reach truck.

EXPERIENCE:

An ideal candidate would have 3-5 years of related warehouse experience in an Oracle WMS environment. Must have working knowledge of warehouse organization and material handling. Trained forklift/Reach truck operator required.

Customer satisfaction is a priority. Tight deadlines, cut off shipping times, month end, etc.

Responsibilities

Load/unload trucks, using forklift or pump trucks. Shelve and organize products & supplies according to warehouse plan. Organize incoming and existing stock neatly & safely. Coordinate outside storage as required with Management.

  • Perform shipping functions including coordination with customer receiver or external office representatives. Pull correct product for customer’s orders. Assemble products appropriately and securely. Load outbound trucks.
  • Ship parts and parcels in accordance with written instructions from Sales, Administration, or Service. Assist with packing as required. Schedule courier / carriers as required.
  • Complete shipping documentation and labeling, process customer invoices. File documentation accurately. Provide updates to Management on inbound/outbound shipments.
  • Complete inventory checks as required and participate in physical inventory counts. Organize inventory such that goods are easy to locate and non-inventory items are marked.
  • Check forklift for appropriate running and safety specs. Maintain daily safety check log. Report on maintenance needs to Manager. Ensure safe operation of forklift including use of wheel chocks on trailers. Maintain operator safety certification.
  • Perform occasional warehouse/building maintenance, moving demo products, etc.
  • Control access to the warehouse including internal associates and external shipping representatives. Ensure the warehouse is secure, all doors are locked and lights are out at the end of the day.
