We’re looking for a Shipping Helper who will be responsible for ensuring quality and customer requirements are met, as well as making sure all shipments are accurately and properly prepared to arrive at our customer’s destination. This role will rotate between day shifts (7:30am – 3:30pm) and afternoon shifts (3:30pm – 11:30pm) every 2 weeks.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma, with previous experience in a warehouse an asset.
  • Willing to learn how to operate a jogging table, jog paper, operate a Flipper.
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Proven basic computer experience.
  • Must be willing to learn how to use a clamp truck and forklift, with prior experience and certifications/license an asset.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task, keeping organized at all times.
  • Must be able to pay close attention to detail and be self motivated, while also being a great team player.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities
  • Check customer specs and dockets for requirements/special instructions
  • Band and wrap skids.
  • Pull defective sheets from job and notify a lead hand.
  • Adhere to and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Daily completion of inspection report prior to using lift equipment. Any equipment deficiencies identified during inspection or operation must be brought to the Supervisor’s attention immediately.
  • Ensure work area is clean and safe throughout the shift and at the end of each shift.
  • Ensure self and others work in a safe possible way, reporting injuries, occurrences or near misses to Supervisors.
  • Ensure that all the required personal protective equipment is worn at required times and in the required areas.
  • Other related duties as required.
