Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Shipping Lead to oversee daily shipping operations, ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment, and support continuous improvement within the warehouse and logistics functions. The Shipping Lead will coordinate shipping activities, support team performance, maintain compliance with company procedures, and help drive operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role works closely with warehouse personnel, customer service, production, and logistics providers to ensure shipments are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule. Essential Job Functions Lead and support daily shipping operations to ensure on-time and accurate shipments. Coordinate shipments with carriers such as UPS, FedEx, DHL, and LTL providers. Verify shipping documentation, labels, packing lists, bills of lading, and carrier requirements. Support international shipments, including documentation and compliance requirements (AES, export paperwork, etc.) when applicable. Perform data entry for shipped orders and resolve shipping discrepancies. Train and support shipping team members on procedures, safety standards, and best practices. Monitor shipping performance metrics and assist with process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy. Maintain inventory accuracy through proper material handling and transaction processing. Collaborate with customer service, planning, finance, and production teams to resolve shipping issues and expedite orders when needed. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks as required. Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of hazardous materials by MSDS guidelines. Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and warehouse organization. Communicate effectively with freight carriers and logistics partners regarding pickups, delivery schedules, and shipment tracking. Support continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse and logistics operations. Requirements Essential/Preferred Skills: 3+ years of shipping, warehouse, or logistics experience in a manufacturing environment. Prior leadership or team lead experience is preferred. Working knowledge of shipping systems, ERP systems (e.g., Syteline) preferred. Experience with shipping systems (UPS, FedEx, DHL, LTL carriers). Familiarity with domestic and international shipping procedures. Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and work instructions. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification. Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and warehouse systems. Experience working within ISO or quality-driven manufacturing environments. Knowledge of freight, carrier coordination, and export documentation. Experience using barcode scanners and warehouse management systems. Regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Frequent use of hands for handling, packaging, labeling, and operating shipping equipment. Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull materials up to 50 pounds without assistance; occasional team lifting may be required for heavier items. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching to access materials and complete tasks. Ability to safely operate standard warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and scales (forklift experience a plus, if applicable). Must be able to read shipping labels, work orders, and computer screens, and perform data entry tasks. Requires attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required, including safety shoes, gloves, and eye protection. Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper handling of hazardous materials by MSDS guidelines. Ability to work overtime as needed to meet production and shipping deadlines.
