Description The Shipping/Receiving Team Lead is a critical member of the shipping team. The role involves supporting the shipping receiving supervisor with the daily shipping and receiving operations. Will partner with Sales, Logistics, and Production to ensure complete orders are shipped and delivered on time, as well as processing and recording all inbound shipments. Work with the data system for storage and tracking of goods and shipments. A successful shipping/receiving team leader is well-organized and excels in communication. They must be comfortable with paperwork flow and information systems and have great knowledge of shipping and receiving standard operating procedures. The goal is to oversee their respective shift to assure that the shipping and receiving processes are running smoothly, effectively, and accurate DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Utilize RK65 bar code scanners for all shipping and receiving transactions. Accountable for barcode equipment hardware at start and end of shifts. Preparing items for shipments and make arrangements inclusive of preparing pack list, bill of lading, sealing trailers etc. Move team members as necessary to process daily shipping/receiving volume. Receive and check inbound goods for accuracy and place in proper storage locations. Verify packing list against POs to ensure receipt and provide to finance for approval of payment. Maintain required inventory levels of packaging and other supplies as needed based on the production schedule. Complete required powered industrial truck inspection at the start of each shift or as needed for equipment changes during the shift. Prepare, pack, label, and shrink wrap product for shipments. Direct the replenishment of production pack houses with necessary dry goods related to the daily production volume. Organize shipments of goods between sites, from suppliers to LLF facilities. Maintain the warehouse receiving\shipping areas in a neat and orderly fashion. Establish relationships with key business partners and cross functional team members. Schedule and participate in inventory and cycle count activities including reconciliation. Maximize effectiveness of work space. Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and management. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS: High School Diploma or GED. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS: 1+ years of previous warehouse experience preferred. Good communication, organization, time management, and mathematical skills. Dependable and reliable. Barcode scanner experience. Inventory, equipment maintenance, data entry, and computer skills required. Attention to detail. Effective communication skills. Strong work ethic. Ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time (e.g., preparing products for packaging, packaging products, and regular inventory). Availability to work occasional weekends and holidays. Eager to learn and enthusiastic. Basic computer skills. Able to perform intermediate accounting tasks, addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, and weight measures. Must be able to lift, carry, and balance up to 50 pounds unassisted (and up to 300 pounds with assistance) and must be able to do so with extreme care and caution when working with plants and products.
