POSITION SUMMARY

As Shipping & Logistics Manager at Seidel Tanning Corp., you’ll oversee the end-to-end shipment process of our premium leather products. You’ll lead a small team to package hides to exact customer specifications, coordinate with our 3PL partners, and ensure all domestic and international documentation—SLIs, customs paperwork, certificates of origin, health certificates, and more—is accurate and on time. Attention to detail is critical, as is a commitment to efficiency and compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in shipping/logistics management within manufacturing or distribution
• Demonstrated expertise preparing SLIs, customs filings, certificates of origin, health certificates, and related export/import documentation
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team and enforce quality standards
• Strong attention to detail; track record of error-free documentation
• Proficiency with ERPs or order-management systems and MS Excel
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Team Leadership & Workflow
• Supervise, train, and mentor the shipping team; assign daily packing and shipping tasks
• Conduct regular quality checks on packaging to meet Seidel’s high standards
• Shipment Coordination
• Plan and schedule outbound shipments through our 3PL provider, optimizing routes and costs
• Liaise with Production to confirm inventory availability and prioritize orders
• Documentation & Compliance
• Prepare, review, and file:
• Shippers Letter of Intent (SLIs)
• U.S. customs documentation (ISF, AES filings)
• Certificates of Origin & Health Certificates for international shipments
• Any additional export/import permits or phytosanitary certificates
• Ensure all paperwork is scanned and uploaded into Seidel’s ERP for audit readiness
• Systems & Record-Keeping
• Maintain meticulous shipment logs, reconcile against packing lists and invoices
• Scan completed work orders and packing confirmations into the ERP system
• Process Improvement
• Identify and implement process enhancements to reduce errors and accelerate throughput
• Stay current on shipping regulations and best practices; update procedures as needed
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with Sales to verify order specifications and delivery timelines
• Coordinate with Customer Service on shipment status updates and issue resolution
