Job Summary: The Shipping Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the shipping department. This position involves managing personnel, ensuring the accuracy of shipments and maintaining an efficient and safe warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and experience in shipping and warehouse operations.   Job Duties/Responsibilities:    * Supervise and lead the shipping team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and according to company standards. * Review packing slips and verify the accuracy of shipments, ensuring items are properly logged and managed. * Maintain accurate and detailed records of all items shipped, including any discrepancies or issues that arise during the process. * Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse lifting equipment to move and handle inventory, as necessary. * Identify opportunities to improve shipping processes for better efficiency, accuracy, and safety. * Provide training and ongoing support to team members on proper shipping procedures, safety standards, and equipment operation. * Performs other related duties as assigned.   Requirements: * Computer operation – printing labels, word processing, spreadsheets, generate reports and ability to effectively communicate via email. * Experience using FedEx system or use of comparable system. * Prior experience in filling out domestic/international shipping papers (bill of lading, international commercial invoices) * Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions. * Ability to work in a variety of roles. * Strong project management skills. * Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others in a team environment. * Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to utilize the tact and diplomacy required to foster a team environment while keeping projects on schedule and budget. * Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, deadline driven environment, as well as a strong attention to detail and accuracy. Supervision Received: Works with minimal supervision. Issues and concerns need to be communicated to general manager.   Qualifications and Education Requirements * 5+ years of shipping experience required. * High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Physical Requirements: * Lifting: Occasionally raises objects from a lower to a higher position or moves objects horizontally from position-to position. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs. * Push/Pull:  Occasionally uses upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs. * Reaching:  Extends hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs. * Stooping:  Bends body downward and forward at the waist. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs. * Standing:  Standing for moderate levels of time. Infrequently more than 30 minutes at a time. * Walking:  Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks. In frequently more than 30 minutes at a time.
Responsibilities
