Shipping Operations Assistant
Key Responsibilities

1. Vessel & Port Support Operations

• Assist with scheduling and coordinating vessel berthing and departure.
• Support documentation for discharge/loading operations and cargo handling.
• Liaise with port agents, stevedores, and surveyors for daily port activities.

1. Shipping Documentation

• Prepare and organize shipping documents (SOF, NOR, B/L, manifests, etc.).
• Track cargo movement and ensure accurate reporting.
• Ensure proper filing and submission of port and customs documents.

1. Logistics & Coordination

• Monitor container and cargo movements at the terminal and warehouse.
• Assist with follow-ups on clearance formalities with customs and port authorities.
• Help track and control costs related to port charges and agency fees.

1. Inventory & Terminal Support

• Coordinate with the terminal for storage, bagging, and dispatch activities.
• Assist in maintaining basic inventory and movement logs.

1. Team & Stakeholder Support

• Collaborate with internal operations and documentation teams.
• Provide support to senior logistics officers in managing port and vessel tasks.

Key Skills and Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain (preferably in a port/agency setup).
• Familiarity with shipping documents and port procedures.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and document management tools.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Maritime Studies, Supply Chain, or a related field.
