Description As a Shipping/Receiving Assistant at Tangent, you will ensure accurate and efficient processing of shipments, maintaining inventory levels, and coordinating with various teams to ensure smooth operations. The clerk is responsible for meticulous record-keeping, adhering to safety protocols, and supporting inventory management activities. Role and Responsibilities / Essential Functions Shipping Duties: Prepare, package, label, and document shipments. Coordinate pickups and track shipments. Verify and inspect shipments for accuracy and damage. Maintain shipping logs and documentation, including invoices and bills of lading. Receiving Duties: Unload, unpack, and inspect incoming goods. Record and report discrepancies, damages, or shortages. Enter and organize received items in the inventory system. Inventory Management: Manage stock levels and conduct regular inventory counts. Assist with inventory audits and cycle counting. Maintain accurate inventory records and update stock levels. Equipment Operation: Operate a sit-down forklift for loading and unloading. Safety and Compliance: · Follow all company safety protocols. · Complete required training and ensure quality standards. Requirements Required Skills / Abilities / Competencies High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in logistics or warehousing is a plus Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Sit down forklift experience Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. Education and Experience Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Experience: Prior experience in a similar role is highly beneficial. Mental/Physical Requirements Mobility: Ability to move throughout the distribution warehouse, including stretching, squatting, and reaching to access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units. Lifting: Capable of lifting to 50 pounds. Environmental Tolerance: Must be able to work in various weather conditions and temperatures, both in the warehouse and on the loading dock.
