Description Job Summary: The Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, preparing outgoing pallets and packages for shipping, ensuring accuracy and completeness of orders, and maintaining inventory records. In this role, you will work collaboratively with sales, production, and other vendor partners to ensure timely receipt and delivery of goods. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will engage with vendors and drivers, providing excellent service and support. Additionally, you will provide backup support for the shipping and receiving departments as needed, ensuring that all products meet quality standards and customer expectations. Key Responsibilities Unload trucks; verify materials against invoices; confirm quantities; inspect for damage; and document variances Receive proof of deliveries and notify recipients promptly to support timely distribution Verify accuracy and counts of all outgoing shipments Prepare and stage outgoing shipments to meet customer and carrier requirements Process shipments and pickups through shipping portals and carrier websites Accurately log incoming items, update inventory systems, and complete receiving reports Prepare shipping documentation including delivery receipts, Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing slips, Certifications of Conformance, and customer-specific paperwork Label products, move materials to designated storage locations, and assist with cycle counts and physical inventories Safely operate pallet jacks, forklifts, pallet wrappers, and other material-handling equipment Maintain a clean, organized, and operationally ready receiving and shipping area Communicate with suppliers regarding issues and coordinate with other warehouse staff Requirements Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent Strong attention to detail and accuracy Prior experience in a shipping, receiving, or warehouse environment preferred Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds Proficient computer skills and familiarity with inventory and shipping software preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Experience using FedEx, UPS, and other shipping platforms preferred Ability to work independently and as part of a team Forklift certification preferred Skills and Abilities Required: Strong attention to detail and accuracy when verifying quantities, shipments, and documentation Ability to inspect materials, identify discrepancies or damage, and escalate issues appropriately Proficient in preparing and maintaining shipping and receiving documentation (BOLs, pack slips, CoCs, customer paperwork) Working knowledge of inventory systems, shipping software, and carrier portals (UPS, FedEx, LTL) Ability to support inventory accuracy through labeling, storage, cycle counts, and physical inventories Safe operation of material-handling equipment including pallet jacks, forklifts, and pallet wrappers Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain a clean, orderly, and efficient workspace Effective communication and teamwork skills when working with suppliers, drivers, and internal teams Ability to follow written instructions, safety rules, and standard operating procedures Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift Work Environment: · This position works in a warehouse and material-handling environment. The role may involve occasional exposure to temperature variations, typical warehouse noise, and standard industrial materials. Appropriate personal protective equipment is provided as required. · The position requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift. Hearing protection and other safety equipment are available as needed.
