Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Ensures the effective and efficient movement of outgoing orders. Ensures the effective and efficient movement
of incoming materials and supplies. Communicating effectively, works as a member of a team to ship, receive and
process items that are used in the manufacture or assembly of product in a thorough, accurate and rapid-response manner.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES include:

  • Ensures accurate address.
  • Required shipment paperwork; shipment data, transportation method, transportation space and shipping

    charges.

  • Assembles orders, prepares goods for shipment to include building boxes and crates.

  • Relies on instructions, pre-established guidelines and adheres to practice, policy and procedure of

    the assigned location to perform the functions of the job.

  • Completes shipping and receiving reports.

  • Ensures all documentation is in order and entered into the appropriate tracking mechanism.
  • Reports damages and discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement and record-keeping purposes.
  • Identifying the items with the appropriate information.
  • Use forklift, pallet jacks, cranes and other material handling equipment to safely move items/product

    in and around the assigned facility.

  • Assist employees with the safe retrieval and handling of WIP, finished goods, materials and other items

    that are used in daily operation.

  • Maintain supplies and equipment used in daily activities at the assigned facility.

  • Operates saw to saw material for manufacturing.
  • Operate vehicles such as pickup truck and/or flatbed truck to transport materials, machinery, products,

    etc as needed.

  • May be required to maintain an accurate and orderly inventory of WIP, finished goods, and materials

    including proper identification and protection of these items.

  • Assist in periodic inventory counts as requested by management.

Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned.
Minimal requirements for education, knowledge and experience:
High School Diploma or GED,0-3 years of experience performing shipping and receiving duties in a manufacturing
facility. Able to use forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and other material handling equipment safely to move
product in and around the assigned facility. Able to operate vehicels with either automatic or manual transmissions.

This position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:

  • Work schedule generally consists of 40+ hours per week, which may include overtime, on-call status, evenings, and/or weekends.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time regularly.
