Description

The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator supports Carnegie’s conference and event operations needs and is responsible for packing and preparing materials for upcoming events, timely shipping management of those materials, overall inventory management, and processing the return of materials to the home office.
This subcontractor position will require an average of 5 hours per week at the Carnegie office in Westford, MA.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Due to the remote environment, effective communication and time management skills are required, as well as the ability to use/learn multiple technology platforms and switch between them on a regular basis
  • Physical requirement: Must be able to lift up to 20lbs to waist height and move up to 50lbs independently with assistance from a hand truck.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable personal vehicle for shipping errands
  • Must have a flexible weekly schedule to accommodate on-site presence at the Westford, MA, office.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in a shipping, receiving, or inventory-related position preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
  • Packaging and shipping
  • Receives packaging requests and commutes to the Westford, MA office to locate and package required items
  • Delivers packages for shipping and receives incoming shipments when required
  • Packages materials in an organized manner, including return labels and a list of all contents
  • Packages materials on pallets when required
  • Moves any packages from the building’s loading dock or common areas to Carnegie’s fulfillment area of the office
  • Organization and inventory management
  • Opens all returning packages, evaluates the condition of the items, updates inventory tracker with quantities and condition
  • Communicates material requirements such as packing tape, boxes, pallets, etc.
  • Maintains organization of the inventory room
  • Task Management
  • Communicates using Carnegie’s project management tools
  • Responds to packing requests within 24 hours to confirm availability
