Division OmniSource Overview The Shipping/Receiving Lead ensures the appropriate work is getting done in the appropriate manner and time frame as designated by the shipping supervisor. Responsibilities Performs essential duties as outlined for Shipping Employee Identifies and packages finished goods per customer specifications. Handles a portion of maintaining of the equipment by the process of Preventative Maintenance Inspects trailers for damage and unsafe conditions Loads and unloads materials an products onto or from pallets, skids, or trucks. Maintain clean and organized work area. Monitors all areas of shipping ensuring all are clean and organized. Observe processes and equipment for malfunctions and report any issues to the shipping supervisor Prepares paperwork for shipping and staging per customers specification Assists the supervisor with the accountability and direction of shipping employees Assists with communication between shipping and sales department Responsible for preparing area before starting Assist shipping employees with job functions as needed. Suggest improvements in shipping methods and quality for customers Suggests changes to shipping supervisor regarding working conditions, and ways to increase efficiency of the department.
