Position Title: Shipping/Receiving Team Member Department: Operations Reports To: General Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Position Overview America’s Thrift Stores is looking for a dependable and motivated Shipping/Receiving Team Member to join our operations team! This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys staying active, working as part of a team, and supporting a mission-driven organization. We’re seeking individuals with open availability who are flexible and willing to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed. In this role, you’ll support the flow of donated goods through our warehouse and donation center while helping ensure a positive experience for our donors. You’ll work in both indoor and outdoor environments and play an important role in helping our stores serve the community. Key Responsibilities Accurately count, weigh, and measure incoming and outgoing shipments Ensure materials are delivered to the appropriate locations in a timely manner Record material movement and weights in the designated tracking system Identify, document, and report discrepancies such as shortages or overages Safely operate material-handling equipment while following all PPE guidelines Assist customers and donors at the donation center as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership Skills & Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age Open availability required, including weekends, evenings, and holidays Basic math skills Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced setting Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records Ability to follow company policies and procedures Successful completion of a background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screen Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record Physical Requirements Frequently: Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs Pushing/pulling up to 25 lbs Climbing up to 14 feet Bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, balancing, handling, and smelling Walking on tile or concrete surfaces Continuously: Standing on tile or concrete Talking, seeing, and hearing Work Environment & Schedule Primarily day and weekend hours, with flexibility to work evenings and holidays as needed Work performed both indoors (semi-controlled temperatures) and outdoors in varying weather conditions We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
