Description Ensure all work order forms and bills of lading are accurate according to company standards. Maintain files for all customer orders shipped. Principal Duties 1. Check drivers in and out. 2. Process work order forms for loaded trucks. 3. Answer incoming calls. 4. Keep shipping files organized. 5. Keep the Shipping Supervisor aware of any problems with any orders. 6. Maintain good housekeeping and safety in the work area assigned. 7. Process packing lists. 8. Bill all completed work order forms. 9. Generate Bill of Ladings. 10. Print shipping labels as needed. 11. Train new associates regarding the shipping office duties and systems. 12. Perform other duties as assigned by WH Supervisor/Operations Manager. DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 1. Ability to move skillfully in all computer software (i.e., Microsoft Windows and Outlook) and also on AS400. 2. Strong mathematical skills. 3. Reading and writing skills, and great attention to detail, to correctly bill all work order forms. 4. Excellent communication with truck drivers and all the logistics Department personnel. 5. Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize according to their importance or urgency. 6. Ability to interact with everyone positively. 7. Maintain a positive attitude and adapt to change. 8. Working knowledge of written and verbal English. 9. Must be able to work with little to no supervision. 10. If applied internally must not be on Corrective Action. Requirements DECISIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Must be able to work the shift hours Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (May be subject to change by management) 2. Must have the ability to choose or decide about work-related duties in a clear and definite way without hesitation or delay. 3. Must be able to adapt to last-minute changes in scheduling. 4. May teach another co-worker how to fully process completed work order forms. 5. Accountable for accuracy on all completed work order forms and bills of lading. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 1. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. 2. Must be able to sit, stand, or walk continuously throughout the shift. 3. Must be able to bend and stoop for long periods. 4. Must be able to use both hands and arms in repetitive motion, if needed. WORKING CONDITIONS 1. Must be able to work in a manufacturing/warehouse environment. 2. Must be able to withstand noisy, dusty work areas. 3. Must follow all plant safety and environmental policies. 4. Must be able to withstand both hot and cold climates depending on weather conditions. SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS 1. Must have a high school diploma or the equivalent. 2. At least 3 years of shipping documentation experience preferred.
