Description
Responsibilities: Provide ongoing leadership to warehousing hourly employees to ensure employee safety, quality and delivery performance for the plant Provide direction daily on shipping and receiving schedules and the efficient utilization of manpower Interact with other supervisors, operators, engineers, management, maintenance, and customers. Knowledge of production scheduling, safety, housekeeping, and warehousing requirements. Supervise the movement of finished goods through the warehouse from receiving through shipping and returns. Continuously measure/monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions when needed. Manage team in a manner that supports a positive work environment for all team members. Lead problem-solving activities in this area as necessary Develop, maintain, and deliver team member development and performance feedback to provide personal growth and enhance team capabilities Ensure inventory accuracy and focus on maintaining and improving operating efficiencies to include employee productivity. Ensure data integrity within company enterprise systems such as TMC and SAP. Enforce plant rules and provide corrective action as necessary Responsible for supporting the warehouse flow of inbound and outbound shipments Determine orders required to ship and generate shipping documents (pack list, bills of lading, commercial invoice, etc.). Coordinate shipments and maintain/foster a cohesive working relationship with carriers. Provide key leadership in annual inventory process Conducts follow-up with carriers to ensure loads are OTIF Review all safety guidelines, workplace safety policies & OHSA requirements with personnel Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required Five (5) years of experience working in shipping/receiving within a manufacturing environment including experience with shipping, receiving, inventory control, employee relations and customer service Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills along with a high degree of attention to detail. Experience with SAP and/or TMC or other transportation management systems. Ability to use personal computer skills utilizing software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience operating a sit-down forklift is strongly preferred Must be willing to work overtime, including weekends and off-shifts as required Understands quality, PPE requirements, safety, and the importance of complying with safety policies and procedures. Capable of advanced problem-solving and persistence to carry out job functions. Self-starter Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is required to sit and stand for long periods of time, use arms and hands to feel or reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl on occasion, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may sometimes be exposed to moving mechanical parts. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required. The work environment is often noisy and hearing protection is required.
