Shipping Supervisor Mid-Ohio Tubing, located in Athens, Alabama is a subsidiary of Gregory Industries, a reputable steel manufacturer. We currently have an outstanding opportunity for a Shipping Supervisor. This position is responsible for optimizing productivity and supervising the activities of personnel to ensure safe and effective operations. This is a salaried non-exempt position, and the ability to work any shift is required. Responsibilities * Direct the shipping employees for optimal performance * Ensure employees are adequately trained * Monitor and enforce all safety and work rules * Ensure customer orders are received, picked and shipped in a timely fashion within prescribed cost levels * Ensure accuracy for inbound receipts * Ensure current and accurate inventory via cycle counts * Monitor stock rotation (FIFO) * Follow proper storage plan * Continuously improve processes * Maintain a clean and orderly work environment Requirements * 2+ years shipping supervision experience in a manufacturing environment * Knowledge of Microsoft Office * Knowledge of safety programs and regulations * Ability to analyze information in order to optimize schedules / productivity * Must be able to work any shift * Excellent problem solver * Good knowledge of labor savings practices * Ability to coach and mentor employees for maximum effectiveness * Excellent troubleshooting skills * Experience with roll-forming or the tubing industry * Communication and conflict resolution skills We offer a very competitive salary / bonus program and benefits.
