Description The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all shipping, receiving, and material handling operations to ensure efficient material flow, accurate inventory control, and on-time delivery of products. This role provides direct leadership to Material Handlers and coordinates closely with production, quality, purchasing, and logistics teams to support lean manufacturing objectives. Key Responsibilities Supervise, train, and mentor Material Handlers and shipping personnel. Prioritize workload to support production schedules and customer shipments. Oversee receiving, inspection, storage, and distribution of raw materials, components, and finished goods. Ensure accurate and timely preparation of outgoing shipments. Verify shipping documentation, bills of lading, packing slips, and carrier compliance. Coordinate freight scheduling and communicate with carriers and logistics providers. Maintain accurate inventory levels through cycle counts and physical inventories. Maintain warehouse organization and cleanliness. Oversee accurate documentation of material movements, receipts, transfers, and shipments. Requirements 3–5 years of experience in shipping, warehouse, or material handling operations in a manufacturing environment. Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred. Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles (5S, Kanban, JIT). Experience with inventory management systems/ERP software. Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification). Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, ERP systems). Physical ability to lift and move materials as required.
