Can-Tech Services is currently looking for candidates for a Full-Time Permanent position located in the North York Area ( Keele & Steels) to work as a Shipping Team leader on Days & Afternoons.

JOB SUMMARY

The Lead Hand will work as part of a team to deliver exceptional customer service and impact to our clients. In addition, the position will provide leadership and support to other warehouse employees.

SKILLS:

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication an asset
  • Full proficiency with technical computer skills
  • Experience in Warehousing and Distribution an asset
  • Material Handling equipment licenses must be valid
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Capability of repetitive work including bending, twisting and reaching, while following all safety procedures
  • Ability to learn, adapt and apply new systems, techniques and technologies
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment
  • Available to work a 42.5 hour work week, periodic overtime and ability to work on weekends if necessary

Responsibilities
  • Support the Warehouse Supervisor in the delegation of daily work assignments.
  • Operate a variety of material handling equipment such as Reach truck, Counterbalance Forklift, Dock stocker, Pallet rider.
  • Support the Receiving, Put away, Picking and loading processes within the warehouse.
  • Use RF handheld device to process all inventory movement transactions
  • Train new team members or support cross training of team members from other areas of the consolidation center.
  • Complete multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Follow standard warehouse practices and work instructions, to ensure high levels of inventory accuracy are maintained.
  • Support ongoing cycle count procedures and document and identify any inventory discrepancies found.
  • Support daily pre-shift meetings and act as back up to the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Perform a variety of physically demanding duties according to standard work instructions, such as manually loading and
  • unloading goods from a trailer.
  • Ensure that C-TPAT Processes are followed at all times and report any non-conformance to the supervisor immediately.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure company’s external and internal customer requirements are met.
  • Follow all company health and safety protocols, report any incidents and or near misses to the shift supervisor immediately.
  • Proactively participate in accident and incident prevention and complete the necessary reports for near misses or incidents.
