POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary objective of a Warehouse Team Lead is to ensure every shipment arrives on time. The Lead will monitor and oversee outgoing and incoming shipping activities to verify items are shipped to the correct location in good condition, and incoming items have proper documentation and are not damaged. Ensure all materials are moved to their proper storage area and resolve issues with shipping orders.

EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

  • Minimum 2 years working experience in warehouse; lead person experience a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of transportation/shipping/receiving/warehousing functions.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Power Point; ERP experience preferred
  • Problem Solving- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully. Develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations; uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to push and/or pull up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to continuously stand and/or walk for extended periods of time on concrete surface.
  • Ability to repeatedly kneel, bend, crouch, reach, climb and/or stoop throughout the shift as needed to successfully perform job duties.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain safe working conditions, procedures and practices in the Warehouse.
  • Maintain a good labor relations climate with the department by adequately answering employee complaints, suggestions, and questions.
  • Promote a teamwork culture through positive encouragement
  • Working with the 3PL, plan and execute logistics need with trucking firms to ensure timely pick-up and delivery of shipments, while minimizing overall freight costs.
  • Provide leadership, training, coaching and formal / informal feedback to Materials Manager
  • Inspect every aspect of the loading operations to make sure they follow warehouse and shipping specifications and to ensure proper use of warehouse space.
  • Read all shipping notices, orders, invoices, and other documents to manage priorities and ensure that the correct shipping methods are used, ensuring shipping records are accurately stored.
  • Conduct regular inventory reconciliation to ensure that FIFO of inventory is being used. Report to management on damaged goods and any discrepancies with inventory.
  • Responsible for all areas that contain Finished Goods and Raw Materials, ensuring easy access and safe maintenance; keeping areas clean and report any damage to management.
  • Act as a liaison between workers and management and report on shipping activities and issues.
  • Will work with Materials Manager to ensure proper employee vacation coverage
  • Ensure outside grounds comply with all GMP/SQF standards
  • Maintain trailer inspection Program
  • Certifies and Trains Forklift Drivers
  • With Materials Managers, investigate any safety issues
  • Other duties as assigned.
